CPD Board has partnered with The Bar Association (www.barassociation.ie) to bring their conferences and seminars to the attention of all legal practitioners, and other professionals whose governing bodies oblige them to undertake continuing development annually.

Effective from the 1st January 2018, the new Solicitors (Continuing Professional Development) Regulations 2017 (S.I. No. 529 of 2017) came into operation, specifically relating to the practice/calendar year/CPD cycle 2018.

They provide for the completion of a minimum of 20 hours CPD for 2018, of which Solicitors (to whom the Regulations apply) must ensure include a minimum of:

(a) 3 Hours Management CPD (Management and Professional Development Skills)

AND either:

(b) 2 Hours Regulatory Matters CPD if you are not a sole practitioner or a compliance partner and/or an anti-money laundering compliance partner

OR

(c) 3 Hours Regulatory Matters CPD, of which 2 Hours must be accounting and anti-money laundering compliance if you (including senior practitioners) are a sole practitioner or a compliance partner and/or an anti-money laundering compliance partner.
